BOB TUREK x BODY SPEAKERS

Texas A&M grad student Bob Turek designed these speakers with the use of some speakers, fiberglas mannequin, 1/8 stereo jack, power/volume knob, and a hand-built solid-state stereo amplifier.

Normally, I wouldn’t blow my money on something like this, but this is definitely a conversation piece. Pretty much anything with nudity equals a good time in my mind. More info on Bob here.

COLDPLAY x BAND RULES: 'ALWAYS KEEP MYSTERY'

1. Albums be no longer than 42 minutes, 9 tracks.
2. Production must be amazing, but with space, not overlayered, less tracks, more quality, groove and swing. Drums/rhythm are the most crucial thing to concentrate on; diff. between bittersweet and science of silence. [A reference to The Verve and Richard Ashcroft solo]
3. Computers are instruments, not recording aids.
4. Imagery must be classic, colourful and different. Come back in glorious technicolor.
5. Make sure videos and pictures are great before setting release date. And highly original.
6. Always keep mystery. Not many interviews.
7. Groove and swing. Rhythms and sounds must always be as original as possible. Once jon has melody twist it and weird it sonical.
8. Promo/review copies to be on VINYL. Stops copying problem, sounds and looks better. [Ed. Note: My Viva La Vida promo was in CD format]

Monday's inaugural auction of the Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé collection was anticipated by thousands of collectors, art lovers and dealers. Over 1,200 clients joined Christie’s and Pierre Bergé at the Grand Palais in Paris and 100 telephone bidders were active throughout the two and a half hour sale, to bid on behalf of all international clients unable to come in person to this unique Parisian event. The sale was a world record for a private collection at auction and the highest total for any sale in Europe, totaling €206,154,600 / $266,743,437. More in on the auction HERE.

NIKE AIR FORCE 1 2009 BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Nike release Black History Month sneaker model that aimed to celebrate this month. And for this year (2009) it's using Nike Air Force 1 as the base model with black for the upper, red stitching and inner lining also green accents. It design with lasered graphic on the rear and marble black midsole. But you will not find it in the retail stores, cause it only available in three pairs and that will be give-away in the Nike contest which will be held in Miami, Florida.

WTF x NUMBER 1 RAP ALBUM x THE LONELY ISLAND

-No. 1 on the ‘Top Rap Albums Chart' this week is the comedic trio The Lonely Island with their first album titled Incredibad.

-The trio, who ware well known for their Saturday Night Live skits which include "Dick In A Box", "Jizz In My Pants” and "I'm On A Boat”, scan 47,500 discs in their opening week. Incredibad features appearances from E-40, T-Pain and Justin Timberlake.

-T.I. slides down to No. 2. Paper Trail shifted 33,300 units this week, pushing the album's total sales to 1,694,500.

-Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III hits the triple platinum target this week. Tha Carter III, which sits at No. 3, passed the 3,000,000 sales mark by pushing 26,900 discs this week. The album's tally stands at 3,012,100.

-Posted at No. 4 is Florida rapper Plies. Da Realist scanned 14,300 copies in its ninth week on the charts. So far, the album has sold a total of 269,600 discs.

-Ludacris slips down to No. 5. Theater Of The Mind reeled in 12,200 units this week, bringing the album's total sales to 554,700.

-Right behind him is Young Jeezy at No. 6. The Recession scanned 9,900 units this week. To date, the album has sold 775,400 copies.

-Seated at No. 7 is The Notorious Soundtrack, The set shelved off 9,300 CDs in its 5th week on the charts. So far, the soundtrack has sold 107,500 copies.

-Holding fort at No. 8 is Soulja Boy. ISouljaBoyTellEm ropes in 8,900 units this week, pushing the album's total to 134,800.

-M.I.A. sneaks back into The Top 10 by grabbing the No. 9 spot. Kala rakes in 5,800 discs this week. The album’s tally stands at 450,000.

-Wrapping up The Top 10 is The Game. LAX moves 5,400 units this week. So far, the album has sold 675,900 copies.

CHANEL x PERSONAL TRANSPORT

CHANEL announced the creation of the above urban personal transporter, which seems to have more fun than a bike and it looks as crazy as rollerblades.The rich-rider drives it by leaning in the direction he or she wants to go at speeds of nearly 20kph. With a range of 20km and an adaptation of the famous CHANEL 2.55

3RD ANNUAL x ONE STOP SHOP x SHA MONEY

May 9-10th in Phoenix, Arizona’s Hyatt Hotel, the event is focused on giving aspiring producers a chance to learn about the business and showcase their talent through a beat battle, educational panels, access to new technology and appearances by some of the biggest names in hip-hop. This year will focus on music videos, including a panel with Rik Cordero, Lil X and Chris Robinson.

In addition to the Visual Image Panel, there will be a Power Play Panel with Violator Management founder and 50 Cent Manager Chris Lighty, Disturbing The Peace’s Chaka Zulu and Bryan Leach of Polo Grounds Music. Also this year expect to see Polow Da Don, Pete Rock, Just Blaze, Jim Jonsin, Drumma Boy, Ron Browz and DJ Khalil.

MUSIC WORLD put together this piece on The BlackOut Crew & DONK. Donk is blowing up in the UK right now. The Wigan Pier nightclub is legendary in the UK. This isn't exactly my kind of music, but damn these kids look like they are having a blast. The BlackOut Crew is from Bolton, England and are local legends blowing up Donk all around western Europe. PHX x ALLSTAR x POV

Sorry for the break in action, but I have been crazy busy in Phoenix for the NBA All-Star game. Well now it's over, and I have to see this was one of the better all-star weekends ie. not hood like Las Vegas. I think its because everything was spread out around PHX/Scottsdale/Tempe. Highlight of my trip was definately the private 2 Kings dinner and afterparty with Jay-Z and LaBron on Saturday night. Oh, and I saw Suge Knight get beat up on Sunday. lol.
